We believe it is important for every
resident to be offered a choice of
activities to suit their wishes and
abilities. These help to keep residents
mobile and alert, and encourage them to
take an interest in the people and the
things happening around them.
Residents are encouraged to join in
with activities although as a former
resident said ‘This is a rest Home and I
intend to rest’. The choice is naturally
up to each individual.
Because it’s important, we employ a
Social Activities Coordinator who offers
a range of activities every morning and
encourages residents to join in. In the
afternoon, care staff organise other
interesting things for residents to do.
Theatre and other cultural outings,
games, discussions, music, hobbies,
reading, quizzes, and reminiscing are
just a few of the activities on offer.
The Home has its own minibus which is
used to transport residents to any
outings.
All major events throughout the year
such as Christmas, Easter, and VE Day
are celebrated with parties and in other
ways.
